I am a local doula here in the state of Delaware. I service New Castle, Kent. and Sussex County. I come from a background in labor & delivery through my experience as a CCMA at a birth center and as a doula through the Madriella Organization, and Birth In Full Bloom Doulas.
My philosophy behind Doula With Karen is to provide expecting mothers with support throughout their prenatal, and postpartum journey. All mothers deserve to be nurtured and have that extra support in addition to their partners. Whether you are expecting your 1st baby or 5th!

You know her, I know birth…As a doula, my goal is help your support team work together! For couples, my biggest thing’s is to have your partner actively involved throughout the entire process so that you can both experience the intimate moment of birth. I know about birth, but one cannot fill the partner’s shoes and know the mother as well as her partner.

What's a Doula?
A doula is a trained birth companion who supplies informational, emotional, and physical support throughout your journey from prenatal to early postpartum. A doula can provide you with nurturing and evidence-based support from the first trimester to the fourth.
Who can have a doula?
Any expecting mother who plans to have a medicated or unmedicated birth at a hospital, birth center, or home birth. If you already welcomed your little one then a postpartum doula may be for you.
When should I hire a doula?
There really isn’t a timeline on when to hire a doula. However, the preferred time to hire a doula is before you are full-term. Hiring a doula early allows both parties to establish a nurturing relationship and connection.
